During 2020, the team behind the Matakana Oyster Festival took a break. This break prompted the Matakana Winegrowers group to work with local oyster farmers to create a series of lively, tasty and enjoyable oyster and wine match-up sessions.

The Matakana Pub, Bohemian Cider, Matakana Cinema, the Vintry and Matakana River Tours all joined in with our version of the Matakana Oyster Festival, all offering local oysters events matched with Matakana’s beautiful wine, beer and cider.
